No matter how you say his name, you've got to love the music. Accompanying a long list of rappers with multiple names and aliases... Diddy churns out hits, new artists, and products at a speed the franchiser's of McDonald's could appreciate. Well Diddy's up to it again.
Recent ads show that Diddy is embarking on another world tour in 2010, but wants to audition no-name, would-be artists to add to his band. He doesn't want to create a new band, but actually wants to add to his own. Which leaves me wondering if he is just trying to eek out another season of his show, promote his upcoming tour, or actually trying to launch some new music careers.
According to MTV's casting call site, his call began on 02/24/2009, but ended before I ever saw any ads for it on 03/31/2009. The call was for aspiring vocalists and musicians, ranging from guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard, alike. New members have a chance to back him on his next and upcoming album "Last Train to Paris."
The auditions were held in New York at the S.I.R. Rehearsal Studios. Family members of contestants were not allowed to accompany their potential super star, due to limited space at the facility. Those auditioning were asked to preform numbers from:
- American Boy -- Estelle
- Heartless -- Kanye West
- Last Night -- Diddy
- Message in a Bottle -- The Police
- I Miss You -- Blink 182
- September -- Earth Wind & Fire
- Rehab -- Amy Winehouse
- All This Love -- DeBarge
No matter what comes of this... I have faith Diddy will produce some great stuff on this new album. I'm a huge fan of his old music and the Bad Boy Franchise, so we'll have to see what comes from this. Check his old albums.
I'm down with Diddy - trailer is HOT - i think we're gonna see him in a different light:
