Song Lyrics | Lynyrd Skynyrd – “Free Bird”

Lynyrd Skynyrd
It's a running joke, there is always some guy at a concert that yells out "Free Bird!" But, like any good thing that is mocked, there is truth to it. Skynyrd's rock song is a hit in almost everyone's book for one reason or another. Free Bird also made it on to another hits list, the VH1 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs list.

Free Bird Lyrics:

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be travelling on now
There's just too many places I've got to see

But if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change

Bye bye, baby, it's been a sweet love yeah, yeah
And though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take this so badly
'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame

But if I stay here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

And this bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows I can't change
Lord, help me, I can't change

Lord, I can't change
Won't you fly high free bird?
Yeah

Song Lyrics | ZZ Top – “Tush”

ZZ Top

ZZ Top - Tush Song Lyrics

I been up, I been down.
Take my word, my way around.
I ain't askin' for much.
I said, Lord, take me downtown,
I'm just lookin' for some tush.

I been bad, I been good,
Dallas, Texas, Hollywood.
I ain't askin' for much.
I said, Lord, take me downtown,
I'm just lookin' for some tush.

Take me back way back home,
not by myself, not alone.
I ain't askin' for much.
I said, Lord, take me downtown,
I'm just lookin' for some tush.

ZZ Top's "Tush" is ranked number on the VH1 100 Greatest Hard Songs list.

Song Lyrics | Nirvana – “Smells Like Teen Spirit”

Nirvana
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit Song Lyrics

Load up on guns
Bring your friends
It's fun to lose and to pretend
She's over-bored and self-assured
Oh no, I know a dirty word

Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello

With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto, an albino
A mosquito, my libido
Yeah!

Hey!
Yeah!

I'm worse at what I do best
And for this gift I feel blessed
Our little group has always been
And always will until the end

Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello

With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto, an albino
A mosquito, my Libido
Yeah!

Hey!
Yeah!

And I forget just why I taste
Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile
I found it hard, it was to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind

Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello, how low?
Hello, hello, hello

With the lights out, it's less dangerous
Here we are now, entertain us
I feel stupid and contagious
Here we are now, entertain us
A mulatto, an albino
A mosquito, my libido
A denial, a denial
A denial, a denial
A denial, a denial
A denial, a denial
A denial!

Smells Like teen Spirit hit number seven on the VH1 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs

Pawn Stars | Las Vegas

The History Channel - Pawn Stars

September 3, 2009 I wrote about my favorite TV show. Pawn Stars, on the History Channel. This is a show I'd told people about all the time. I had been watching Pawn Stars practically since its debut. No one that I had mentioned it to had even heard of the show. Well, I went to Las Vegas Nevada this spring and thought I'd check out the scene of my favorite show. Maybe meet the Pawn Stars themselves. Sure enough, by the time I got to Las Vegas, people had finally heard about this show.

Pawn Stars Location
Pawn Stars is filmed at the Gold and Silver Pawn shop in Las Vegas, NV. The shop is located on Las Vegas Blvd, just minutes away from the Stratosphere and the famous Las Vegas Little White Wedding Chapel. The Pawn Stars address is:

713 Las Vegas Boulevard South
Las Vegas, NV 89101-6755

Meet The Pawn Stars

Richard Harrison from Pawn StarsRichard Harrison -
"The Old Man"
Richard Harrison is the oldest of the Pawn Star crew. He is the owner along with his son, Rick Harrison. Also known as the "Old Man," Richard is often seen as the demanding hard ass of the group. He served in the U.S. Navy in his youth, and now has a passion for mid-shift naps. The Old Man is a no-bullshit kind of guy.
Rick Harrison Pawn StarsRick Harrison -
Rick Harrison is the other co-owner of  Gold and Silver Pawn shop. Rick is the son of Richard Harrison, and father to Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison. Rick is often shown expressing his love for Americana and educating would be sellers on historical events and items.
Corey Harrison from Pawn StarsCorey Harrison -
"Big Hoss"
Corey Harrison has been around the pawn shop since the age of nine. Working for his grandfather and his dad, negotiation is not a skill to Corey, but second nature. Corey not only works along side his family, but his best friend Chumlee.
Austin Chumlee RussellAustin Russell -
"Chumlee"
Chumlee is the antique weapons tester. Sometimes voluntary, sometimes not. Chumlee's favorite phrases are "cool," "awesome," and "hey Big Hoss." While it's easy to stereotype Chum as the village idiot... he is anything but. Chum pipes up from time to time and educates his co-workers. Most memorably when he drops a little pinball machine knowledge on his best friend Corey. He's the poster boy for work ethic.

Song Lyrics | Bon Jovi – You Give Love A Bad Name

You Give Love A Bad Name Lyrics, By Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi and BandI wrote about Bon Jovi a while back when I posted the song lyrics to Wanted Dead or Alive. That song was even popular enough to make it onto the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch. Well, that's not the only song of Bon Jovi's to gain recognition from the television industry.

You Give Love A Bad Name made it onto the VH1 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. The song was ranked in the 20th position on the list. A pretty impressive showing for Bon Jovi.

You Give Love A Bad Name Lyrics:

Shot through the heart
And you're to blame
Darlin'you give love a bad name

An angel's smile is what you sell
You promise me heaven then put me through hell
Chains of love got a hold on me
When passion's a prison you can't break free

Whoa! You're a loaded gun (yeah)
Whoa! There's no where to run
No one can save me
The damage is done

Shot through the heart
And you're to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part
And you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give love... a bad name

You paint your smile on your lips
Blood red nails on your fingertips
A school boy's dream you act so shy
Your very first kiss was your first kiss goodbye

Whoa! You're a loaded gun
Whoa! There's nowhere to run
No one can save me
The damage is done

Shot through the heart
and you're to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part and you play your game
You give love a bad name
You give lo-o-o-o-ove!

Shot through the heart
and you're to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part
And you play your game
You give love a bad name

Shot through the heart
and you're to blame
You give love a bad name
I play my part
And you play your game
You give love a bad name

You give love...

You give love...
(A bad name)

You give love...

You give love...
(A bad name)

You give love...

You give love...
(A bad name)

You give love...

And this is for the questions that don't have any answers
The midnight glancers and the topless dancers
The gander freaks, cars packed with speakers
The G's with the 40's and the chicks with beepers
The northern lights and the southern comfort
And it don't even matter if their are punctured
All the crackheads, the critics, the cynics
And all my heroes in the methadone clinics

All you bastards in the I.R.S
For the crooked cops and the cluttered desks
For the shots of jack
Pints of love
And the fifth's of stress
For the hookers all trickin' out in Hollywood
And for my hoods of the world misunderstood
I said it's all good, it's all in fun
Now get in the pit and try love someone

bawitdaba
Bawitdaba-da bang-da bang-diggy-diggy-diggy
Said the boogie-said up jump the boogie
Bawitdaba-da bang-da bang-diggy-diggy-diggy
Said the boogie-said up jump the boogie

For the time bombs tickin'
And the heads they hang
All the gangs gettin' money
And all the heads they bang-bang
Wild mustangs
The porno flicks
All my homies in the county in cellblock 6
The grits where there ain't enough eggs to cook
For D.B. Cooper and the money he took
You can look for answers but that ain't fun
Now get in the pit and try to love someone!

Bawitdaba-da bang-da bang-diggy-diggy-diggy

What
Come on

Love (Love)
And for the hate

And for the peace
War!

Come on

Song Lyrics | ACDC's Back In Black

ACDC
Back In Black - ACDC (1980)

Where were you the first time you heard it? That's what they should ask about this song. They really should, because this is an unforgettable song!

The guitar is completely insane in this song. It just stings you to the core. Then the voice when it delivers the line - "Back in black!" It cracks your ear drums in the best way you can imagine. Just a great song.

Fun Fact: #2 on VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs!

Back In Black Lyrics:

Back in black
I hit the sack
I've been too long I'm glad to be back
Yes, I'm let loose
From the noose
That's kept me hanging about
I've been looking at the sky
'Cause it's gettin' me high
Forget the hearse 'cause I never die
I got nine lives
Cat's eyes
Abusin' every one of them and running wild

'Cause I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
(Well) I'm back in black
Yes, I'm back in black

Back in the back
Of a Cadillac
Number one with a bullet, I'm a power pack
Yes, I'm in a bang
With a gang
They've got to catch me if they want me to hang
Cause I'm back on the track
And I'm beatin' the flak
Nobody's gonna get me on another rap
Don't look at me now
I'm just makin' my play
Don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way

'Cause I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
(Well) I'm back in black
Yes, I'm back in black

Well, I'm back, Yes I'm back
Well, I'm back, Yes I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
Well I'm back in black
Yes I'm back in black

hooo yeah
Ohh yeah
Yes I am
Oooh yeah, yeah Oh yeah
Back in now
Well I'm back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back, I'm back
Back
Back in black
Yes I'm back in black
Out of the sight!

Song Lyrics | Journey – Any Way You Want It

Any Way You Want It Song Lyrics - By Journey

Journey The Band
This little Journey tune, honest to God, reminds of car commercials. Maybe not just car commercials, but commercials in general. I have probably heard it on at least seven or eight through out the years.

Don't take this as me ripping on Journey, because this song is really good. It's got a huge, recognizable intro. It's just one of those... well, I don't want to cheapen it by calling it "happy go lucky," but essentially that is what it is. One of those happy go lucky songs.

This track made it onto VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. Hard Rock? Well, not in my book. Although, worthy of being on top 100 list.

Journey Lyrics - Any Way You It:

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

She loves to laugh
She loves to sing
She does everything
She loves to move
She loves to groove
She loves the lovin' things

Ooh, all night, all night
Oh, every night
So hold tight, hold tight
Ooh baby, hold tight

Oh, she said
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it
She said, Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

I was alone
I never knew
What good love could do
Ooh, then we touched
Then we sang
About the lovin' things

Ooh, all night, all night
Oh, every night
So hold tight, hold tight
Ooh baby, hold tight

Oh, she said,
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it
She said, Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

She said, Hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, baby

Oh, she said,
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Oh, she said,
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it
Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Any way you want it
That's the way you need it
Any way you want it

Garth Brooks | The Dance Lyrics

It's funny, although this is not one of my personal favorite songs by Garth, it is one of the most well known of all my non-country music listening to friends. With good reason I guess, because it is one of Garth's first number one, chart topping hits after all. And don't get me wrong, just because it's not one of my favorites, doesn't mean I don't like it. I think it's a great song.

The Dance, was sort of a preview as to Garth's ability to top the charts with his music. Garth allure and the ability to capture such a wide audience is as simple, as it is genius. The songs are very relatable and general, which appeals to a mass demographic.

This is the song that gave Garth Brooks much of his initial recognition and acclaim. This song also won Garth many awards, which I have listed below. For now, we'll move onto the lyrics.

The Song Lyrics:
Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance.
